I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington. Over the past 25 years I have worked with a wide variety of clients, helping them to address their mental, emotional and physical health needs. Clients are often struggling with depression, anxiety and a general feeling of being overwhelmed. I also work with clients who are seeking to improve their physical health and help them to do the mental and behavioral work necessary to change their eating habits, lose weight and improve their health. Over the past three years I have worked with clients in preparation for and after bariatric surgery.
In working with clients to achieve their goals I have learned how linked our mental and emotional health are to our physical health. In order to find relief and growth we often need to address all three aspects together. With this knowledge, making small changes leads to success. I love watching clients find relief and achieve their goals.
Our focus is to help individuals determine their individual treatment goals and to achieve these goals, both short and long term. A variety of approaches are used to meet the individual needs of our clients.
As humans, we all have our own battles we fight. By sharing our stories with someone who will listen without judgment and offer insight and support we can find relief from the pain we carry. I look forward to working with you to find healing and relief.
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Finding success with bariatric surgery takes a commitment to change and an understanding of food choices and cravings. Our relationships with food are complicated and lead to challenges in long-term change. The link between our emotions, day-to-day activity and social expectations with food are important to understand to learn how to navigate and build healthy eating habits for life.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. We can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
